Welcome to the SAS Honors Program!

The SAS Honors Program encourages creative, talented, and motivated students to take full advantage of all that Rutgers, a major public research university, has to offer while fostering a strong sense of community and leadership among our Honors Scholars.
Our Honors Program offers a variety of special opportunities, including rigorous interdisciplinary Honors Seminars, discipline-based Honors Courses, personalized advising, a Faculty Mentor Program, Peer Mentoring, Honors housing on each campus, and a wide range of cultural, social, and co-curricular activities.
SAS Honors Students are first and foremost Rutgers Students. The SAS Honors Program supplements and enriches our students' many academic and professional pursuits at Rutgers. Whether a student is interested in Astronomy, Molecular Biology, French Literature, Political Science, or any field in the Arts and Sciences, Honors Program requirements combine easily with students' majors and minors.
What do our students like best about being an honors student at Rutgers? There are as many answers to that question as there are students in our program. For some it is the chance to discuss books and big ideas as a student member of our Summer Reading selection committee; for others it is strolling the galleries of the university's art museum with their Faculty Mentor at our Fall Honors reception at the Zimmerli; for others it is taking a field trip to Brazil as part of their Honors Seminar. What many Honors students appreciate most is the warm community of inquisitive students that our Honors Program fosters within our bustling and vibrant university.

On this website you will find information about all of our programs and scholarly offerings, including our Honors Colloquia, Honors seminars, and department-based honors courses. Browse our website and explore the many ways in which the SAS Honors Program can enrich your experience as a high-achieving student at Rutgers and empower you to succeed as a student and in life.
