SASHP Honors Scholar-Leader Award

The School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program encourages creative, talented, and motivated students to take full advantage of all that Rutgers, a major public research university, offers, while fostering a strong sense of community and leadership among our Honors Scholars.

We recognize our Scholar-Leaders with this award, the SASHP Honors Scholar-Leader Award.


Rising SASHP seniors (class of 2018) in good SASHP scholastic standing may apply for this award if they have, at a minimum, completed all SASHP requirements except the Capstone. Honors Scholar-Leaders are required to adhere fully to the SASHP Integrity Code and to remain active and engaged student leaders throughout their senior year.

Application (due October 16, 2017)

  1. The Nomination Form signed by your SASHP Advising Dean
  2. A 300-word essay analyzing and describing your growth as a leader at Rutgers, with emphasis on your contribution as a leader in the SASHP
  3. Your resume

Recipients of this award will be formally acknowledged at our SASHP Senior Gathering Brunch and Ceremony on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Interested in Being a Tutor?

Do you want to improve your critical thinking and leadership skills? Are you looking for a way to sharpen your academic knowledge while serving the Rutgers community? Volunteer to tutor fellow students! As little as 2 hours of your time each week can make a difference.

SAS Honors Program students in good standing who have completed at least one semester at Rutgers are invited to apply to the Tutoring Program. Tutors choose which course or courses they tutor, and only need to be available 2 hours per week! The application is available online the first week of the Fall and Spring semesters. Students selected to participate in the Tutoring Program will be required to attend periodic trainings and meetings throughout the academic year.
