One of comic's biggest authors, Snyder has written scripts for both DC and Marvel, including the bestselling series Batman, Swamp Thing, and Superman Unchained, all part of The New 52, DC Comics' company-wide relaunch of all of its titles. Some of his most popular Batman storylines include "The Court of Owls," "Death of the Family," and "The Black Mirror."

He is also the creator of the bestselling comic series, American Vampire, and the author of the acclaimed short story collection, Voodoo Heart. His stories have been published in Zoetrope, Tin House, One-Story, Epoch, Small Spiral Notebook, and other journals. He teaches creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College, NYC and Columbia University.
