The Rutgers class of 2017 urges for the attendance of Ellen DeGeneres as their commencement speaker. Ellen is much more than the quirky comedian the world knows and loves. She is a person the world needs to model after. Ellen is a humanitarian to say the least, advocating for gay rights, animal abuse, and the loving of all humans. She has raised millions of dollars for charities including Hurricane Katrina victims and St. Jude's Children's Hospital. These are just a few examples of the thousands, if not millions of lives she has touched just by bringing her positive aura through our tv screens and into our homes. At a time when the world is faced with so much hate, especially in the media, Ellen advocates for the love and kindness of humanity. She will not only bring laughter that will make you cry and inspiring messages to give back, but she will infuse High Point Solutions Stadium with love and hope for the future as she welcomes class of 2017 into the real world.
