Stauffer GeorgeDistinguished Professor George B. Stauffer served as Dean of the Mason Gross School of the Arts for twenty years before returning to the faculty in the fall of 2020. While he is known professionally as a Bach scholar, having published eight books on Johann Sebastian Bach and the music culture of the Baroque, he greatly enjoys teaching undergraduate courses on other topics, such as “Music and the Brain,” “Those Who Dared: The Great Women Composers from Hildegard von Bingen to Lady Gaga,” and “Who Needs Music.”
