Dean Ackerman is the campus director for the SAS Honors Program on the College Avenue Campus. She is a proud Rutgers alumna who is thrilled to be back at her alma mater. Dean Ackerman was a Douglass Scholar, earned her B.A. in Spanish with a concentration in Linguistics, and minored in Psychology. As an undergrad, she was involved with residence life, Greek life, orientation, recruitment, intramurals, and studied abroad in Spain. After realizing her involvement on campus translated to a passion for working with college students, she pursued her Ed.M. in College Student Affairs at Rutgers where she also served as a graduate assistant in New Student Orientation. Prior to joining SASHP, Dean Ackerman spent six years advising computing students at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two adorable kids, traveling, reading, binge-watching shows, and cheering on her favorite football teams. She looks forward to helping students make the most of their time here and all that Rutgers has to offer!
