Peer Mentor Program
The School of Arts and Sciences Honors Peer Mentor Program matches new SASHP students with current Student Mentors. Peer Mentors volunteer as resources who are available to share information about everything from requirements to professors, to inform students where to get advice, and to generally be familiar faces at SASHP and university events. Mentors range in class year from sophomores to seniors, and majors from Art History to Molecular Biology. When possible, students are matched on the basis of possible major, career plans, and extracurricular interests. The Mentors & Mentees determine the nature of the mentoring relationship: some meet only once or twice, and some form lasting friendships.
Beginning with the Peer Mentor & Mentee Summer Kick-off, the Peer Mentor Programming Board, made up of Peer Mentor leaders, organizes activities each month for Mentors & Mentees to attend together.
